Community Accountant

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking the right candidate for an “Accountant” to join the Business Office who will report to the Controller / Privacy Officer. The candidate must have strong office and administrative skills, combined with some Accounting Experience. The position will also include revenue recognition, cash receipts, treasury and other various responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accountant will be responsible for the primary responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Maintenance, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Receipts
  • Timely delivery of monthly statements
  • Record resident payments on to deposit summary form
  • Update Census
  • Assist with compilation of month-end financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
  • Assist Controller with monitoring aged receivable balances and make collection calls to respective parties
  • Updates work papers in Excel for year-end audit preparation
  • Process the entrance fee deposits into escrow/trust account during recession period; move funds back to operating account post-recession period
  • Review general ledger & financial statements for accuracy
  • Project Analytics
  • Expense reconciliations
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller

This is a Salaried Position which is Exempt. The expectation during month-end is to work until the job is done. In general, the standard work week is five (5) days/forty (40) hours per week. However, there may be times when the demands of the business require working more than the standard week.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least two (2) years of business office/financial experience
