Our busy resident dining room is looking for friendly and competent servers to make sure the residents have a memorable experience everyday. Since the quality of our service is crucial to success, the ideal candidate should possess clear communication skills, patience and attentiveness. You should be adept at working in fast-paced, unpredictable environments. You must be able to think on your feet and work well with the entire staff, from the cooks to the other servers. The successful applicant will be able to provide superior service and make certain our residents dining experience, from the food to the environment is consistantly raising the bar in meeting the needs of the residents.  

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers upon entrance
  • Prepare dining tables by arranging condiments, kitchenware and decorations
  • Help residents select dishes by answering questions about daily menu
  • Take orders to the cook and notify them of any special requests or dietary needs
  • Deliver food to the residents in a timely manner and attend to the needs of the residents throughout the dining process
  • Advises supervisor when supplies diminish for reorder
  • Set up and deliver meal trays to resident rooms

SAFETY AND SANITATION

• Follows safety regulations and precautions at all times
• Follows established Infection Control procedures when performing daily tasks
• Ensures that all food service areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are properly maintained
• Reports all hazardous conditions and equipment to your supervisor
• Reports all accidents to the Dining Services Director or the Executive Director
• Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies

Job Requirements

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
• Must have knowledge of dietary procedures, was well as related Health Department regulations and guidelines pertaining to food service operations
• Must be able to serve food and beverages for residents in a prompt and efficient manner

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATION

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous dining room and server experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lift up to 50lbs
• This is primarily a standing position where an employee may be required to stand in one place for extended periods of time. They also will be exposed to extreme heat and cold temperatures
