Meadow Ridge is the premier life care retirement community in Fairfield County, located on 136 acres in beautiful Redding, Connecticut. 

In this unique and enriching environment, we offer Independent and Assisted Living apartment homes, as well as a skilled Health Center where we provide our residents with quality care and services. 

Meadow Ridge is currently hiring for EMT/Security Staff. The following shifts are available:

  • Saturday 10:30 pm - 6:30 am
  • Sunday 2:30pm -10:30 pm
  • Per diem

Job Summary:   

The Security Guard/EMT is responsible for performing scheduled security checks of the community, including securing all doors, checking outside lighting, set residential indicators, radio checks and reporting any/all unusual occurrences.  Additionally, this position administers emergency care to sick or injured residents.

Job Requirements

  • Job Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Licensed Connecticut Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) with a minimum of one (1) year EMT experience.
    • One (1) year experience in security preferred
    • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
    • Ability to proficiently document care given, keep timely documentation of written and verbal reports. Provide necessary follow-up.  Ability to effectively give and receive shift reports. 
    • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English; write routine reports and correspondence; read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals; and perform simply arithmetic
    • Excellent communication skills; ability to present information and respond to questions from all levels of staff as well as residents, visitors, vendors and the public.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and prioritize; excellent time management skills. Able to handle constant interruptions of tasks
    • Ability for flexible schedule and work overtime as needed to perform job functions
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population
