Job Description

The Housekeeper is responsible for keeping the community and resident apartments clean and safe for residents, staff and visitors.

Must work every third weekend

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates effectively with supervisor
  • Keeps Housekeeping closet clean and chemicals stored appropriately.
  • Follows Housekeepers Guidebook for the use of specific chemicals and is familiar with emergency procedures and location of Safety Data Sheets for chemicals they are using.
  • Understands proper handling of bio hazardous waste and storage
  • Thoroughly cleans all assigned resident apartments as scheduled by supervisor
  • Cleans bathrooms completely: following The Housekeeping Guidebook.
  • Vacuums all carpeted areas completely, including edges
  • Empties wastebaskets daily
  • Washes inside of windows weekly and as needed
  • Dusts all flat surfaces showing care of residents' belongings.
  • Cleans all common areas according to The Housekeeping Guidebook including elevators, halls, landings, stairs, resident activity areas, lobbies, and model units and cleans other areas as scheduled weekly, monthly or requested by supervisor
  • Checks and touches up vacant units according to assigned schedule
  • Maintains housekeeping carts in a clean and orderly manner
  • Maintains the cleanliness of public restrooms
  • Washes and dries all Housekeeping laundry using cleaning products appropriate to the type of wash.
  • Folds all Housekeeping laundry and returns to appropriate location
  • Represents the community with a “Be the Benchmark” positive attitude and pride when interacting with residents and families

• Washer/dryer (commercial or residential).
• Wet/dry vacuum.
• Housekeeping and laundry carts.
• Chemical cleaning supplies.
• Iron
• Scrubbers
• Window squeegee
• Gloves
• Buckets on wheels
• Trigger pray bottles
• Dust pans, brooms and mops.
• Sprayers
• Scrub brush; scouring pads.
• Demonstrates appropriate physical stamina to assist or lift residents when needed and in emergencies
