Edgehill CCRC, a five-star Senior Living Community is searching for a Full Time Lifestyle Activities Assistant who will work with the Lifestyle Coordinator in promoting a level of health, well-being and engagement for our residents. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, patient, high energy, resourceful in problem solving, and above all, has a passion for working with seniors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in planning, scheduling and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents.
  • Assists, invites and encourages residents to participate in activities.
  • Assesses, plans and manages facilitation of a comprehensive activities program utilizing team members and volunteers.
  • Attends all community planned functions and coordinates events from beginning to end including set-up, running, and breaking down for the event.
  • Helps plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
  • Works with other departments to ensure that all equipment and supplies are available for activities and special events.
  • Coordinates holiday decorations for the community.

  • Assists in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and craft services.
  • Prepares and organizes a calendar of events. Submits the calendar to the Executive Director for final approval. Posts and distributes the calendar.
  • Distributes community newsletter.
  • Meets with new residents to introduce the program.
  • Maintains Excel spread sheet of vendor invoices.
  • Coordinates and tracks vendor contracts and invoice payment.
  • Provides Tech and AV support for activities department, residents & administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Passionate, organized and a team player.
  • Experience in long term care preferred or experience/exposure to the senior population.
  • Aptitude in the arts: singing, painting, theater, writing or ability to play a musical instrument is a plus, but not necessary.
