Job Description

The Affordable Housing Programs Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the operations of the various affordable and subsidized programs supported by each state.   The Affordable Housing Programs Coordinator coordinates, plans, implements, monitors, directs, and evaluates all aspects of operations of the affordable and subsidized programs in partnership with the Accounting and Operations departments.  This individual is fully knowledgeable and complies with all state and federal regulations, program guidelines, and reporting pertinent to the day-to-day operations of the affordable and subsidized


Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of affordable housing programs such as HUD, 40B, Medicaid waiver and Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs.  There must be a willingness to periodically travel within the Company’s footprint (New England, NY & PA) to conduct on-site reviews and training's, as well as review of affordable programs of potential acquisition candidates.  Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills required.  Must demonstrate computer literacy and familiarity with a variety of office software, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software.  It is imperative to demonstrate the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, employees, staff and the Benchmark community.


Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, Healthcare or Gerontology or other course of study that relates to service to the elderly, preferred.  Two to three years’ experience in elderly or disability housing related field.
