Manage and administer the Company’s claims programs.  Work in a team environment, interacting with associates, adjusters, providers, community management, regional HR representatives, brokers, attorneys and others as necessary.  Investigate, document, audit, and resolve claims.  Oversee work of claims adjusters, analyze claims data to identify trends, reserve, monitor, report, negotiate, resolve, recommend measures and techniques to prevent similar claims in the future.  Manage and report on data and RMIS (Risk Management Information Systems).  Special projects as assigned.


  • Manage all general liability, auto liability, and employment practices liability claims.
  • Oversee and administer workers compensation program and assist in developing and implementing new policies and programs.
  • Assist with first-party property and other claims as needed.
  • Identify potential high value and/or fraud claims and future strategy development.
  • Provide direction and training to community management on claims management issues and leadership within the Company on fact investigations and documentary evidence while identifying and developing defense witnesses.
  • Perform periodic file audits and individual review of high value claims as needed to ensure claim handling guidelines and best practices are adhered to. Coordinate and lead quarterly claim reviews with internal stakeholders, TPA, defense counsel and others as needed.
  • Manage and oversee RMIS (Risk Management Information System) database. Provide expertise to internal staff, work in conjunction with IT to resolve technical issues, identify and implement protocols as needed to ensure system is used most effectively.
  • Develop and maintain periodic incident and claim trending analysis and participate in presentations to executive team and others. Identify and develop new ideas related to trending and analysis of claims data.
  • Assist Safety Director to identify loss control measures which could prevent or reduce frequency or severity of claims. Analyze and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Some travel required. Special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements


  • B.S. or advanced degrees in Risk Management or related fields and Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience and expertise.
  • 7-10 years of supervisory claims management experience in workers compensation and general liability.  Healthcare professional liability experience a plus. 
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) Working knowledge of RMIS and claims systems.
  • Strong communication skills within all levels of the Company and with partners and vendors.  Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Prioritize effectively while meeting deadlines. 
  • Ability to work effectively in team environment.
