CURRENT OPENING: Staff Accountant

The Corporate/Portfolio Accountant is responsible for day to day accounting for the Corporate Accounting and Portfolio Accounting teams, assisting in month-end close related tasks for joint venture entities and the management company, maintaining accurate and detailed work-papers, timely preparation of monthly financial packages for the JV capital partners and banks, and quarterly reporting for the co-investment entities.



  • Prepare cash reconciliations and monthly close reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts for co-invest entities as well as the corporate entity
  • Prepare rent payments between various tenant and landlord entities
  • Prepare payables/wire transfers/account to account transfers for intercompany payments
  • Prepare journal entries for debt payments, intangible amortization, prepaid expenses, accruals, receivables, etc
  • Prepare distribution certifications for monthly joint venture distributions
  • Reconcile capital activities for the various joint ventures and co-investment vehicles
  • Calculate monthly management fees
  • Code and book corporate credit card transactions
  • Prepare monthly joint venture and co-invest cash flows
  • Prepare external joint venture investor and bank monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Meet internal and external reporting deadlines
  • Assist with preparation of annual joint venture tax return workpapers
  • Complete additional ad-hoc projects as needed

Job Requirements


  • Proficient with Excel
  • Ability to become proficient in accounting software
  • Can-do attitude as well as ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to report timely is essential
  • Strong time management, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Perform with discretion and maintain confidentiality of investors
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Partnership tax experience a plus


  • Demonstrates good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Communicates effectively with supervisor and co-workers


  • BS or BA degree in accounting, finance or business from accredited college or university


  • 2+ years relevant experience
