Job Description

Wellington at Hershey's Mill in West Chester, PA, a Signature Senior Living Community, is seeking a Mail Room Coordinator This person will typically work a Tuesday - Saturday schedule from 7:30 am-1:30 pm. 



POSITION SUMMARY     

Responsible for the coordination of the incoming and outgoing mail for both the residents and staff in a timely and efficient manner. Will deliver Newspapers to residents in a timely fashion. Assists with sorting packages, logging them and creating package slips for the residents. Other duties will include various accounting projects and tasks. This position will report to both the Director of Activities and the Controller. 



QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Ability to be accurate and detail oriented.
  • Must have a pleasant personality and the ability to be patient and sensitive to the needs of the elderly population.

Job Requirements

COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sorts and delivers mail, packages, and flowers to independent and assisted living residents.
  • Distributes memos and monthly calendars to all residents.
  • Sorts and distributes mail to the office staff.
  • Sorts, labels and forwards undeliverable mail as necessary.
  • Purchases stamps for office and assisted living residents.
  • Oversees, trains and schedules resident volunteers for weekends and vacations.
  • Creates a current resident mail room list as well as corresponding mailbox labels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL & SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, reach, walk, and move intermittently during working hours.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Must be able to function independently, be trustworthy, and have personal integrity, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.
  • Must be able to work with the disabled, ill, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
  • Must be willing to learn the emergency and disaster policies and procedures of the facility.
  • Must be able to understand and follow both written and verbal directions.
