Job Description

Wellington at Hershey's Mill is seeking an experienced Nursing Home Administrator for their fast paced, short-term rehab.  The rehab is part of a continuum of care located in West Chester, PA.

The Nursing Home Administrator will be responsible for planning and directing all day-to-day functions of the health center in accordance with applicable company, federal, state, and local standards to promote that the highest degree of quality care is provided to its residents.  Familiarity with Medicare regulations, survey process, and different payor sources such as Medicare, insurance and private pay is required. Must be experienced with current survey process and familiar with State and Federal Regulations, including but not limited to the Mega rule changes.

Duties of the Nursing Home Administrator position include:

  • Overseeing structured QAPI program
  • Working closely with the Director of Nurses in the overall management and administration of the Skilled Nursing Unit;
  • Updating facility assessment monthly or as needed;
  • Works closely with Security to ensure compliance with fire safety and disaster planning;
  • Works closely with Facilities Director when conducting environmental rounds;
  • Assists all departments in developing, implementing and coordinating facility and departmental policies and procedures;
  • Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, family members, etc. as necessary.
  • Plans Governing Body Meeting
  • Medical Board Meetings done quarterly
  • Attends meetings with facility personnel and supervisors to solicit input on the operation of the facility, to identify and correct problems and to improve facility services.
  • Makes recommendations regarding supply and equipment needs for the facility.
  • Maintains an excellent rapport with residents and families.
  • Enforces all applicable local, state and federal regulations

The Nursing Home Administrator will provide direct supervision and oversight to employees in the rehab.   He/she will create, maintain and cultivate a caring culture for patients, their family members as well as rehab staff.

The NHA will maintain an excellent working relationship with the other departments within the community. 

  • Familiar with different payor sources such as Medicare, insurance and private pay.

 

Job Requirements

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university in health care/business administration or related field.
  • Preferably 3-5 years of Administrator experience within sub-acute or long-term care.
  • Must meet state requirements for and be licensed as a nursing home administrator.
  • Management background supporting ability to read and interpret financial statements and manage a budget
  • Medicare knowledge and experience a plus
