Job Description

The Activities Assistant is responsible for coordinating, and implementing community programming to enhance resident’s experience, while developing and cultivating relationships with current residents and their families. Working with the other members of the Activities team, she/he understands resident interests and needs to design and deliver a comprehensive, yet innovative activity program focused on the Six Dimensions of Wellness geared to establishing and maintaining Human Connection. It is a chance to use your creative skills and be an integral part of an innovative team of professionals.

 PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, promote, coordinate and oversee activity events within the community
  • Provide preference-based programming in group and individual settings for residents
  • Participate in plan of care development
  • Participate with program staff in admission and discharge planning activities upon request
  • Support family members with resident’s admission, changes in condition of physical and emotional health, and discharge
  • Participate in family council meetings and actively pursue and addresses concerns that have been raised in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Community Sales Team with sales and marketing programs and initiatives where necessary
  • Participate in regulatory processes as necessary
  • Obtain new admission Resident Preferences profiles

Job Requirements

 Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • Therapeutic Recreation Certificate preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Outgoing and engaging.
  • Proficient with MS Office Programs(Outlook, Word, Publisher, Excel, etc.)
  • Can manage Social Media accounts.
  • Familiar with basic Audio Video setups.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in Senior Living, Memory Care a plus.
