Benchmark is looking for a Vice President of Accounting and Finance to join their executive team. The VP of Accounting & Finance will work closely with the CFO to develop and maintain an industry leading accounting and finance service organization.  Benchmark operations generate approximately $500MM in revenue annually in 58 communities in multiple states and continues to grow.  Benchmark Senior Living operates in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment requiring a VP of Accounting and Finance that can quickly adapt, design and implement scalable accounting and internal control solutions and lead change.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting. Analyzing company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
  • Developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Assisting senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
  • Working with the Information Technology department in the implementation and management of IT solutions.
  • Coordinating, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Coordinating and/or preparing tax schedules, returns and information.
  • Managing all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes.
  • Managing cash flow.
  • Mentoring and developing Finance and Accounting associates in support of company growth.
  • Interacting with venture capital partners.

Job Requirements

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATICATION

  • Minimum of a BS/Masters in Accounting required with a CPA certification.
  • 8 to 10 plus years of experience in public and industry with a demonstrated history of expanding roles and responsibilities.
  • Experience in a rapidly expanding multi-site operating environment, preferably in Sr. Housing or Long-Term Care, would be beneficial but not required. 
  • Ability to quickly adapt and multi – task with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.  The ability to manage without direct supervision.
  • Exceptional understanding of both GAAP and GAAS and the ability to maintain systems within current guidelines and requirements.
  • Fundamental knowledge of federal and state reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates exceptionally strong computer literacy.
  • Demonstrates ability to mentor and develop team members
