The Falls at Cordingly Dam in Newton, MA is looking for a Music Therapist to join our Programming Team.

- The role pays- Negotiable based on experience.

- We currently have Full Time and Part Time opportunities.

 

Job Description:

The Music Therapist organizes and implements programs designed to meet the individual needs of our residents. Also providing quality verbal and non-verbal enrichment programs with the influence of art, music, and movement for residents in our assisted living and memory care neighborhood. The role would include expanding the diverse definition of each wellness activity to meet residents where they are to enhance quality of life.

The Music Therapist will join a team consisting of art therapist(s), other music therapist(s) and expressive therapies interns to collaborate in building a spectrum of therapeutic approaches designed to meet one or all of the 6 Dimensions of Wellness for our diverse population. 

The Falls at Cordingly Dam is a Benchmark Senior Living community containing both Memory Care and Assisted Living. At Benchmark we impact lives through human connection. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of an innovative daily program for residents
  • Leading and assisting innovative parallel programming to meet the varying and ever-changing needs of the resident population including one-on-ones, small, and large groups on Memory Care and Assisted Living.
  • Communicates and discuss any changes in the resident's condition or behavior pattern(s) with Senior Leadership.
  • Ability to work independently  in a fast-paced environment and utilize downtime to complete varying administrative tasks or resident signature programs.
  • Shows a consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks and works well under pressure.

Job Requirements

Memory Care Activity Assistant Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues. Must be qualified by experience and training to develop programs appropriate for elders and disabled individuals
  • Possesses training and knowledge in recreational activities
  • Possesses training and knowledge of Alzheimer’s and related dementias
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community
  • Shows a consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks, demonstrates a positive attitude, and works well under pressure
