Job Description

Benchmark at Rye is seeking an entry level or experience Personal Care Home Administrator to oversee the daily operation of our Personal Care Unit. This role will ensure adequate staffing and monitor the quality of clinical care of the Personal Care residents and identify emergency interventions for the independent residents.

We will pay you to become a Certified PCA.  We have 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts available for work schedule.



Responsibilities:

  • Provides the necessary leadership in formulating the philosophy and objectives of the Personal Care Unit within the overall philosophy of Benchmark at Rye.
  • Implements policies and procedures consistent with providing quality care for the residents.
  • Collaborates with other supervisory staff for the purpose of providing comprehensive and coordinated services as needed in Personal Care.
  • Establishes standards for measurement of the quality and quantity of the nursing care rendered.
  • Develops a master staffing plan that will accomplish departmental objectives and standards of nursing care and promotes the maximum utilization of staff.
  • Interviews for the positions of Resident Care Giver, Medication Technician, and Staff Nurse/LPN.
  • Provides and implements programs for orientation of new personnel and ongoing educational opportunities for staff development.
  • Participates in the planning and development of future programs.
  • Participates in weekly Plan and Care Meetings as prescribed by the Director of HealthCare Services.
  • Interacts with governmental agencies (i.e. Department of Licenses & Inspections, Department of Public Welfare etc.).
  • Conducts family/resident meetings to ensure that open lines of communication are in effect.
  • Promotes positive staff relations by facilitating an atmosphere of open communication and problem solving.
  • Complies with facility policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, application of standard precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of personal protective equipment and handling of hazardous materials.  Ensures staff awareness and compliance with federal and state regulations relative to resident rights issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be willing to work with residents directly.  Must provide personal care with compassion and patience for residents.
