Job Description

Meadow Ridge,  a premiere Continuing Care Retirement Community in Redding, CT is the most wonderful  of environments in which to work.  We are seeking Maintenance technicians who are as passionate about providing customer service as they are about the work they complete. The Maintenance Technician performs repairs (both minor and major). S/he implements regular and preventive maintenance programs that promote a sense of well-being and aesthetic appeal for residents and staff, and communicates with the Maintenance Director on the condition of buildings and equipment.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must have good building maintenance experience, and be familiar with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance throughout the community.
  • Demonstrates excellent trouble-shooting skills. Be able to think outside the box to figure out a solution.
  • Work with the electronic work order system( Worx Hub)
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, families and everyone in the community.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATICATION

  • 2-3 Years or More Experience of facilities and/or building maintenance, mechanical/electrical/plumbing/HVAC installation, maintenance and/or repair.
  • Loves to work with seniors.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

• Familiar with emergency procedures if chemicals are misused
• Demonstrates the interest and ability to learn new skills and techniques as needed
• Demonstrates proper usage of chemicals and equipment

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Possess good communication skills.
• Diagnostic abilities and skills in completing details
• Possesses the mechanical skills necessary for accomplishing repairs on systems and buildings

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physically able to move at least 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Physically able to bend, reach and work in small areas.
• Physically able to push and pull, equipment and furnishings.
• Physically able to stand and to work on hands and knees for long periods of time.
