Job Description

The Arbors of Bedford, a premier memory care community in Bedford, NH is seeking a caring and compassionate Medication Nursing Assistant(MNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) for medication administration. As MNA/Medication LPN you will administer/assist with approved medications under the supervision of a nurse.

We are currently looking for a part time day shift (7am-3pm) Sunday & Monday, (7am-12pm) Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 



  • Communicates questions, concerns, and/or discrepancies related to medication administration/assistance to Resident Care Director/Resident Care Nurse (RCD/RCN)
  • Communicates any significant change of mental or physical status of resident to RCD/RCN.
  • Documents administration/assistance on Medication Observation Record (MOR).
  • Documents/ notifies RCD/RCN of administration/assistance of PRN meds
  • Responsible for documentation on PRN meds and affect, as allowed per state regulations.
  • Recognizes and can assist in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation
  • Demonstrates proficiency at reading and understanding a Resident Care Service Plan or assignment (e.g., ADLs and introductory visits)
  • Checks all med books and ensures that meds have been given, treatments completed, and all initials are complete as state regulations permit
  • Acts as lead in an emergency (e.g., elopement, fire, disaster, etc.)
  • Follows Infection Control protocol
  • Able to properly and safely set up and administer/assist with medications as allowed by State Regulations.
  • Able to properly chart medications administered/ assisted and immediately report to the nurse those medications not administered/ assisted for any reason.
  • Answers emergency calls and attends to residents’ needs promptly
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate supply of meds (ordering and reordering)
  • Responsible for documentation of med administration/ assistance on MOR

Job Requirements


  • Must retain NH MNA license as applicable by state regulation or have current state LPN license
  • Must demonstrate competency in accordance with the state-approved protocol in drug administration/ assistance.
  • Successfully complete Medication Aide competency review (as supervised by RCD / RCN) 
  • High School education preferred
  • CPR certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • Physically able to move at least 50 lbs. without assistance
