The on-site Health Center at Meadow Ridge in Redding, Connecticut is a certified facility providing skilled nursing for short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.

Meadow Ridge is currently hiring for the RN Supervisor Role 11pm -7am

The RN Supervisor is an RN who is responsible for the overall nursing care/activities on his/her shift, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation and emergency calls, as indicated. Supervises licensed staff and certified nursing assistants and manages the care provided to residents during scheduled shift.




  • Performing professional nursing services which include, but are not limited to, resident assessments, including vital signs, administering medications, enemas, catheterizations, suctioning, sterile technique dressings, set-up and follow through of isolation techniques, set-up and administration of oxygen, physical and emotional caring techniques.

    Supervising direct nursing care in the Health Center in accordance with facility standards of care and pertinent regulations.  Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.

    Making routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.  Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.

    Updating CNA assignments continuously in order to disseminate the most current and accurate information to care givers.

    Keeping timely documentation of written reports and verbal reports on any/all unusual or abnormal observations, emergency care, resident needs, family concerns, changes in physicians orders, narcotic records, follow-up care, resident care plan revisions, any/all changes related to ensuring that quality care is provided and staff incidents are handled appropriately.  Approaching resident care from an effective interdisciplinary perspective and assists in developing comprehensive care plans.

    Giving  and receives shift reports.

    Notifying personal physicians and families of changes in resident’s condition or if the resident requires immediate medical attention.  Notifies Medical Director if the resident’s personal physician does not respond.

    Communicating in a professional manner with residents, family, visitors, Health Center staff, pharmacy and all others as necessary on resident needs and concerns.  

    Properly delegating authority, responsibility, and accountability to other responsible personnel as appropriate. Maintains communication with other operating departments.

Job Requirements


• Current state license as an RN and CPR certification
• Graduate of an approved R.N program (per state requirements)
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse preferred
• Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position highly desirable
