CURRENT OPENING: Treasury Manager 

The Treasury Manager is responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures in the timely processing and handling of all day to day cash management and Accounts Payable activities for all communities and other entities that Benchmark Senior Living LLC manages are being met. The position is also responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable Team, which is comprised of an Accounts Payable Specialist and 4 Accounts Payable Associates. The Treasury Manager is directly responsible for the management and mentoring of existing Treasury Associate and Accounts Payable Specialist. This role also serves as a main point of contact for many internal and external business partners, and as such must provide exemplary customer service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Treasury:

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures
    • Manage Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for Treasury operations
  • Review, develop, document and monitor Treasury operational policies and procedures
    • Recommend enhancement of Company’s overall Treasury policies and procedures
  • Manage all payment systems at banks and custodians, insure all payment information is up-to-date with banks and custodians, and educate team members as banks and systems change
  • Analyze and review bank fees and bank accounts to ensure our bank partners are assessing the proper fees based on negotiated terms
  • Implement and manage all required Treasury operations systems and software
  • Prepare or review reports for internal use or as required by internal and external audit
  • Ensure annual 1099 filing process is completed accurately and timely and in accordance with IRS requirements
  • Collaborate with peers to develop systems to forecast short-term cash flow in real-time
  • Manage the set up and integration of new entities in cash management systems and open bank accounts for business units and subsidiaries
  • Proactively identify & implement process improvements
    • Focus on automating as much of the Treasury function as possible (input, disbursement, monitoring, workflow, reporting)
  • Perform other ad-hoc analysis and troubleshooting as needed

Accounts Payable:

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures
  • In coordination with the Accounts Payable Specialist, help to ensure that Accounts Payable production objectives are achieved:
    • Accounts Payable input and disbursements are made in a timely, accurate and complete manner
  • Confirm that Accounts Payable data, systems and processes are appropriate, secure, and robust
  • Proactively identify & implement process improvements
    • Focus on automating as much of the Accounts Payable function as possible (input, disbursement, monitoring, workflow, reporting)
  • Oversee the implementation of financial technologies and systems
  • Review, develop, document and monitor Accounts Payable operational policies and procedures
    • Recommend enhancements of Company’s overall Accounts Payable policies and procedures
  • Perform other ad-hoc analysis and troubleshooting of matters as needed

Job Requirements

SKILLS

    • Train staff on policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Actively participate and initiate process improvements to organizational processes
  • Highly responsive to time sensitive requests
  • Remain highly organized in an ever changing finance environment
  • Ability to drive projects independently as well as work in groups within the Accounting department, Home Office departments, Benchmark Senior Living communities, banking representatives and vendors, as needed.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Effectively communicate financial concepts and strategies to business leaders and others, including finance, and non-finance employees alike
  • Extensive knowledge of cash management principals, bank products, and bank services
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures

Computer Skills

  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong use of Excel.
  • Experience with Yardi accounting software preferred

Education/Experience/Licesure-Certification

  • BS or BA degree in accounting, finance or business from accredited college or university
  • 5 plus years of experience in related role
  • Experience in property management is desirable
  • Certified Financial Professional (CTP) is desirable
